Cannot delete Virtual network, virtual network gateway, or Public IP

we need to get rid of a previously created site-to-site VPN and the virtual network, virtual gateway, and Pub IP WILL NOT go away.  we've tried through the portal and through powershell.  'says' it 'saved' but they are all three still showing.  I even tried the Remove-WAPackVNet - powershell didn't 'recognize' the command.

We're just starting to build in Azure 'preview' so there really isn't anything there that needs to be kept.  any ideas on how we can nuke those resources?  we really just want to get back to a clean slate.

here is one of the errors we are getting: " Resource is in Failed state and the last operation that updated/is updating the resource is DeleteVirtualNetworkGatewayOperation.'

it's been in 'Failed state' for 3 days now.
