I see many diagrams with one VNET and multiple Subnet. What are the cons of separating roles in different subnet ?
I was wondering if having a ILB configured would be a reason.
Thank you :)

Hi Experts,
I'd like to check what/how do I set to allow SQL Server being installed in Microsoft Windows Azure to be able to be connected from my local/domain machines?

Hi
I have recently configured VNET with IP range of 10.0.0.0/8 and 2 subnets 10.5.1.0/24 and 10.5.2.0/24. I have configured 2 VMs and have kept them on 2 different networks . But I found these workstations are allowing RDP connections among each other. Why is this happening ? I want to restrict them in same VNET.

Hi Everyone,
We are testing an FTP site on Windows Server 2008 R2 in Azure. I manage to configure the FTP and all working if I test it locally using its Local IP Address. However, I'm having trouble accessing it outside the network using VIP address. I already allowed FTP port 21 and port 1035-1040 as I recommend on another blog. I have also configured FTP firewall support in IIS using VIP address. But I can't still access it outside its network. Also, I disabled the windows firewall just to isolate the case.
Do you have any recommendation or literature for this.
Thanks

Hi Experts,
Is it possible to use multiple sstp certificates at a time in Routing and remote access services server.
Any references are highly appreciated.
Thank You.
After completing the AAD Connect wizard an error occurs during configuration of the "domain.onmicrosoft domain -AAD" configuration with the exception:
[ERROR] System.Management.Automation.CmdletInvocationException: Failed even after 5 retries. Action: PingProvisioningServiceEndPoint, Exception: Unable to communicate with the Windows Azure Active Directory service. Tracking ID:### See the event log for more details..
The event log shows:
Event ID 0: There was no endpoint listening at https://adminwebservice.microsoftonline.com/provisioningservice.svc that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.
Event ID 115: ProvisioningServiceAdapter::ExecuteWithRetry: Action: PingProvisioningServiceEndPoint, Attempt: 4, Exception: Microsoft.Online.Coexistence.ProvisionRetryException: Unable to communicate with the Windows Azure Active Directory service. Tracking ID: ###
From this server I am able to access Azure through the PowerShell module and configure MsolDomains. Also connecting in the wizard (first step) to Azure works fine.
Other threads on this forum tell me to disable the proxy for running the wizard, but this is not an option for us, since we have regulations that prohibit us to access the Internet directly.
Is there a way to work around this error, or to configure the proxy in a way that it works?
UPDATE: I've followed instruction in this blog, but still it fails just the same: http://blog.kloud.com.au/2014/12/19/using-a-proxy-with-azure-ad-sync-services/
The proxy we use is not an authenticating proxy. We tried a Squid and a Free proxy. Both end up with the same result.
We have an existing Site to Site VPN which has been up and running for sometime.
The network dashboard descibes the connection as 'Connecting' but this never changes.
We are unable to ping the Gateway IP Address from the either side of the connection.
I've setup VPN links on older 1921 routers before using the auto-generated scripts but this 2901 is throwing the following errors:
crypto ikev2 proposal azure-proposalhello,
i have created a vpn rras site to site between my onpremise site and azure.
vpn status is connected but i can't ping from my on-premise site to azure.
also when i type ns lookup from vm azure it gives me DNS request timed out timeout was 2 seconds.

Hi all
I have just created my first Azure network With the goal to set up a site-to-site VPN.
After adding the Virtual network and then looking at the dashboard, I first got som error "Gateway was not created". After doublechecking the vnet settings and then clicking on "Create Gateway", I see the Creating a gateway for virtual network 'my-azure-net'.. Message at the bottom, and it has been there for more than 15 minutes, and the Dashboard now shows
Last Gateway Event: Gateway creation started for the following virtual network: my-azure-net 25.06.2013 11:38:30
When selecting "Configure", I see this message:
Operation in progress: A management operation is currently in progress. You can adjust configuration settings for the virtual network after the operation is complete.
What can I do in such a situation? Even the Delete-button is grayed out, preventing me from starting from scratch...
Thanks for reading, appreciate all advice

Hi All,
We have an MVC5 app which we are planning to host either as an Azure Web App or Azure Web Role. The queries that we have is pertaining to load balancing of the same as follows:
1. When we spawn multiple instances of Web Apps or WebRoles, does Azure Load Balancer automatically kick in?
2. If the above case is true, then when is the need for the Traffic Manager? Is it used when instances are spanning across multiple regions?
3. Will Azure load balancer suffice my requirement if I am hosting my app only in a single region?
Regards, Saurabh

I'm trying to delete a virtual network, but I'm not allowed to because the portal says it is in use. It is not in use, and I have tried everything I can think of to delete it. The network was created using the preview portal. Mabye there is a bug there preventing deletion?
