Hi, Were just setting up our tennance in Azure and have run into some issues and not sure what to do next.
Our On Permise Lan is made up of a 10.0.0.0/8 and we have a branch office with a 172.18.0.0/16, we also have a 192.168.66.x networ for routing between the LAN core and the Internet Gateway.
Questions:
When you create a new Local network, we have put in 10.0.0.0/8 and 172.18.0.0/16 because this is our on premise lan, but should this be local to Azure?
When we go into Azure to setup the site to site VPN and select the local network, as above. it asks for an address space, and gives me the options of using 172.16.0.0 and 192.168.0.0. If I use the 172.16.0.0 is that ok? Because I have a branch office within that range (172.18.0.0)?
Assuming I can use the 172.16.0.0 address, when I move onto creating the subnets, can I just make the following 172.20.0.0, 172.21.0.0, 172.22.0.0 etc etc and avoid usine the in use 172.18..0.0. Will this work?
When It asks for a gateway, it suggests using 172.16.0.0/29 what is the purpose of this? How does it work? is it even ok?
Thanks for taking the time to read, and hopefully answer my questions.
Regards
Steven
