Help! Point-to-Site VPN Fails to Connect on a New W10 Anniversary Edition Machine. Certification Chain Abort

  • I have been able to connect using the VPN installation package previously via W10 (Surface 3)

Steps Leading to this issue

  • Received a brand new Surface 3 (due to a warranty repair).
  • Install a W10 Anniversary Edition
  • Installed the VPN Installer generated on the Azure VPN, and I get a message that says "A certificate chain processed, but terminated..."
  • Some forum message suggested that I extract the root certificate included in the VPN installer package by using WinRAR. I have done that. The certificate itself does not seem to have an issue and it does install and gives an OK, and looks trusted.
  • Is there any other workaround I need to execute to get the root certificate to work? Is the anniversary edition lacking additional root certs?
  • At this point I cannot get to our production with this machine so this is going to become a fairly critical issue for us soon.
