Azure Point-to-Site doesn't allow network sharing.

I've configured a VPN according to the documents found on the Microsoft Azure web site and can connect (once you manually install the certificate that comes with the client installation package).  I'm now able to RDP, ping and do low-level operations like ftp.  However, the VPN fails with any higher level function like trying to use a network share.  I've got another site which uses Site-To-Site connectivity, so I've verified that all the usual culprits are not the issue (network sharing is on, user is authenticated, etc.).  The P2S VPN appears to be broken for anything more complicated than RDP.  Does anyone have a fix?  Is anyone using Azure P2S?
