Good Afternoon,
We presently utilise two ExpressRoute circuits from our provider to our WAN to provide connectivity for ARM and Classic workloads. Both circuits terminate into the same datacentre and VNET-to-VNET traffic between the two circuits is routed via our firewall on the WAN edge. We are looking to move the VNET in question to the other circuit and are looking for clarification regarding the requirements and limitations of performing this change. ER1 is our primary circuit on which ninety percent of our workloads run. ER2 facilitates connectivity from RemoteApp.
The areas that I require clarification on are;
- Can we associate the VNET to multiple ExpressRoute circuits in the same region?
- Will there be an outage to the VNET Gateway connection if we begin advertising the route prefixes on ER1 as a preference over ER2?
- Are there any other concerns or limitations I should be aware of prior to moving forward?
