Traffic from VPN routing to VM

From Hafiz Arslan (@harslanhafeez) via Twitter who tweets:

“VPN successfully established. but now no traffic (data in/out). I can not ping other machine at 10.0.256.39 from 10.0.06? On portal it says connection succeed.”

Customer was sent the documentation on https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c3c30460-a7a3-413a-90d9-31cadcf8962b/unable-to-ping-an-azure-virtual-machine?forum=WAVirtualMachinesforWindows however this did not help the customer

The customer also added: “that's not, the issue is vpn is established and vm and gateway both are in same virtual network. now how traffic(coming from vpn) will route to virtual machine ??”
