VNG connection via powershell not using specified shared key

Hi Guys .... Here is a quick synopsis of the issue I'm having:

When creating a new Virtual Network Gateway Connection via Powershell, using the 'new-VirtualNetworkGatewayConnection' command, the shared key that I'm stipulating in the powershell script is not being used. When the Gateway Connection is created the shared key that is presented back to me is a very long GUID based string and not the shared key that I provided in the script. If I change the shared key in the portal, I end up with the same issue.
