Brand new to the product and it seems very interesting.
Is there anything preventing me from firing up a DC, File Server, and a couple of Load Balanced RDS servers and accessing this environment remotely for my business? In theroy i could load all my apps etc on my RDS servers, use AD DS in a vm to plop down GPOs for fldr redirection etc back out or file server for roaming profiles and bam....instant environment accessible from anywhere.
Heck you could even build a vm and run DPM to back up the stuff using "short term storage" to vhd files.
You could use network affinity to keep your vms clumped together to keep performance up between servers.
My limits so far are the 1tb vhd limit so large datastores on file servers might be a problem.....or not ....if you used DFS to split up to many vhd files.....
I realize there is probably alot of sorting to do as far as cost as far as storage and compute time are concerned. Thats another conversation.
Placing redundant internet lines in my local office and running my office in this way. Is anyone doing this and is it possible today to do effectively? Seems possible.....or at least not that far away from reality.
I realize this is a loaded question/scenerio but id be curious to know if anyone is using the product in this way and what they think so far. Hopefully ive got the right forum for this question.
