We are using Traffic manager to failover manage two cloud services. It's reporting those services as available without any issues. However, when we deploy a new version of the cloud service to staging and then do a VIP swap, the traffic manager seems to report the site as "inactive" and both endpoints as "stopped". This lasts a VERY long time, even though the VIP swap completes and the cloud services are operational.
Eventually the traffic manager will work out the site is back again and then report it as available.
Unfortunately in the meantime, even though the cloud service is working, accessing the site via its external url (CNAME to the traffic manager URL) fails - the site is not available.
This lasts a very long time (5 minutes+).
We are not using fixed IP's - is this causing traffic manager to fail?
